Valentine Gauthier was grown-up on the « Plateau du Castellet », right next to the Paul Ricard circuit. His father was at the time a test driver and technical director on Formula One during the great era of motor racing between James Hunt, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost or Ayrton Senna. From this childhood she kept the taste for freedom, risk and wide-open spaces.

From her studies in geo-ethnology and fashion design, to the studios of Maison Martin Margiela, DA of a lifestyle concept store and then winner of the Dinard International Festival of Young Fashion Designers just before the launch of her eponymous brand in 2007 and the opening of her first boutique in 2009, Valentine's career reflects her state of mind: creative, determined and passionate.

In 2018 she opened a flagship in the High Marais in Paris with two shops and an apartment. This new space is an opportunity for Valentine to showcase her ideal wardrobe and a modern craft lifestyle universe. She chose to present the work of artists, craftsmen and friends who, through travels and encounters, shared her tastes, convictions and values. These three spaces create a complete universe and reflect his personality.

Valentine loves women, their plurality and differences. The wardrobe that she offers: a mix that is refined, boyish and inspired by workwear wardrobe for an assertive style. Each piece is elaborated in a comfort approach with style and conscience. Delicately printed silk or cotton transparencies, the raw fabrics of the workers' materials, tweed wool, English velvets, lace, poplin and twill are at the heart of the collections.  The print designs created in the workshop balance the solid or muted colours of this identity and timeless cloakroom.

The silhouette is completed by iconic vegetable-tanned leather moccasins and boots made in the workshop of his companion, a bootmaker for 4 generations.

The choice of quality partners and work well done in a sustainable approach, are at the heart of its concerns since its inception. Each piece of the wardrobe is made in a limited number of fabrics from French, Italian or English weavers' workshops. His travels have enriched his DNA with traditional skills. Thus sourcing and the place of manufacture are at the heart of its concerns.

Valentine pays particular attention to the choice of natural and/or recycled fabrics, the quality of manufacture, the cut, as well as the choice of buttons and finishes.

« We meet each workshop with which we work and build relationships of trust and exchange of know-how. Factories and craftsmen who made our clothes like knitwear, shoes, buttons and accessories are selected for their ethical values and the choices are mainly made on their most durable materials. Because we are proud to work in this way and for reasons of transparency, we indicate the origin of the fabrics and the country of manufacture on the product sheets of our articles on our e-commerce. »
