For 200 years, in the Rhône-Alpes region, our French partner has been engaged in respecting a model of sustainable development based on fundamental principles such as environmental protection, empowerment, safety at work and respect for people.
It is one of the few textile companies to have obtained the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification and we are proud to support them in this approach. STeP by OEKO-TEX® is a certification awarded to players in the textile industry who have environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and safe and socially responsible working conditions. Instead of considering only the individual aspects of sustainability, the certification includes a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the production conditions. It is no longer just one item that is concerned, but the entire manufacturing chain.
The green evolution of this historical company of the Italian textile scene, in its fifth generation, based in the province of Como, where respect and culture for the environment and humanity are combined with the ancient passion of a product “transparent” and refined in its qualities and ambitions.
Sustainability, translated into operational reality and concrete results, today lives a new generation of entrepreneurs, young not only in age, but in ideas and enthusiasm, especially in the careful and conscious study of products and suppliers whose quality and traceability they guarantee for a product emblematic of the Lake Como tradition. These silks, viscosities and cottons are certified by Seri.co, Oekotex, FSC, GRS, GOTS which attest the traceability and the content.
Committed to respect for the environment and eco-quality standards in the production cycle, our Italian supplier, based in Prato, produces fabrics from both high quality and recycled fibres. It minimizes the use of dyes and guarantees fabrics free of toxic substances.
All fabrics are studied, developed and produced in this historic textile district, giving the guarantee of a product made according to ancestral skills and know-how. They are awarded the “made in Prato” label guaranteeing that all the transformation, from spinning to finishing, is carried out in the textile district of Prato. The cotton yarns are then immersed in indigo baths, first coming out green before the blue color appears, in dyeing plants equipped with purification plants thanks to European standards.
